Apply to become TRICARE-certified

In order to provide ABA services to TRICARE beneficiaries, ABA providers must be TRICARE-certified. TRICARE recognizes three certification types: Assistant behavior analyst, behavior analyst and behavior technician. Once certified, providers can apply to join the TRICARE East network.

Assistant Behavior Analyst certification

For BCaBA or QASP/ QASP-S certified providers

If you are certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) or you are certified by the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA) as a Qualified Autism Services Practitioner or Supervisor (QASP/QASP-S), you must complete the Assistant Behavior Analyst certification application


Behavior Analyst certification

For BCBA or BCBA-D certified providers

If you are certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Doctoral (BCBA-D), you must complete the Behavior Analyst certification application


Behavior Technician certification

For RBT, ABAT or BCAT certified providers

If you are certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or you are certified by the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA) as an Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (ABAT), or you are certified by the Behavioral Intervention Certification Council (BICC) as a Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT), you must complete the Behavior Technician certification application

Join the network

In order to become a TRICARE network provider, you must:

  • Be TRICARE-certified
  • Accept the TRICARE Maximum Allowable Charge (TMAC) minus an agreed-upon discount as payment in full
  • Agree to submit claims electronically for TRICARE beneficiaries
  • Agree to a discount off the 100 percent TMAC or billed charges if no TMAC exists
