Welcome to Humana Military & TRICARE East

We are pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Defense has awarded Humana Military the contract for the new TRICARE East Region.

TRICARE East Region

TRICARE is now managed in two separate regions, with two new regional contractors. Humana Military manages the new East Region, while Health Net Federal Services, LLC manages the West Region. The East Region contract covers approximately six million TRICARE beneficiaries in a 32-state region (including D.C.).

Current referrals and authorizations that carry over to 2018 are still good.

Your Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and authorizations letters are now available electronically.

TRICARE Select will be replacing TRICARE Standard and TRICARE Extra.

During December, as files transfer to new regional contractors, there will be a slight delay for
PCM changes and TRICARE Prime enrollments (including TRS, TRR & TYA).

Beneficiaries located in the Lubbock and Amarillo, Texas areas are now a part of the
TRICARE West Region. The new regional contractor for this region is Health Net Federal Services,
the same contractor that supports Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico.

Former TRICARE North beneficiaries:

Humana Military will honor all referrals and authorizations from Health Net Federal Services
until they expire. No action is required on your end.

If you currently have TRICARE coverage, you were automatically enrolled in your respective TRICARE plan for 2018. If you opted out of coverage, you now have the direct care only benefit at a military hospital or clinic (MTF).

Beneficiaries who want to switch from Prime to Select or Select to Prime can enroll in either option as you move to the East.

All TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve, and TRICARE Young Adult enrollees are REQUIRED to pay monthly premiums through an automated, recurring electronic payment of either EFT or RCC. Failure to re-establish your automated monthly payment option may result in disenrollment for non-compliance of program requirements.

If you have an allotment, the automated payment information transferred automatically, so no action is needed.
